Jason Mashak (b. 1973) is a Michigan native who spent near equal parts of his life near Atlanta and in Portland, Oregon. His poetry and essays have appeared in numerous journals and anthologies, most recently in Oregon English Journal, Heavy Bear, Black Heart Magazine, The Smoking Poet, Venereal Kittens, Willows Wept Review, Turntable and Blue Light, The Refined Savage, GRASP, and Rakish Angel. His first book of poetry, Salty As a Lip, was published by Haggard and Halloo (Austin, Texas) in 2010. He now lives in Prague, Czech Republic, where he invests most of his time playing with his baby girl, Zoe.
